According to the latest reports, the system—currently categorized as a tropical disturbance—has shown signs of intensification while moving slowly toward the Fiji group. While it is still too early to determine its exact path, forecasters say there is a moderate chance it could strengthen into a tropical cyclone.
Residents in the Western Division, where early rain bands have already been observed, are being advised to monitor updates closely and take precautionary steps such as securing loose items, checking emergency supplies, and staying connected to official channels.
Disaster management teams have activated preliminary response plans, though no evacuation orders have been issued at this stage. Maritime operators are also being urged to assess conditions carefully before departing, as seas are expected to become rough later today.
